In Silence

I made this series during a silent retreat at the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Sénanque, near Gordes.
For several days I lived without distraction, surrounded only by the rhythm of the monks,
the repetition of daily gestures, and the stillness of stone and light.

My intention was to photograph silence.
Not as emptiness, but as something that quietly shapes space and time.
Without noise or interruption, the smallest details revealed themselves: the shift of light on a wall,
the echo of footsteps in a corridor, the weight of the air at dawn.

These images reflect the way silence sharpens perception,
allowing beauty to surface in places we often overlook.
